RE:
Personal Phone Calls
Priority:
Urgent

In reviewing last month telephone bill, I have come across a problem, which is very distressing. I have discovered an increasing number of personal long-distance phone calls being made by employees. While I do not mind an occasional telephone call home, phone calls ranging from 20 minutes to more than an hour are unacceptable. Not only does it take time away from the employees' duties, but also it is costing the company hundreds of dollars each month. In order to rectify this situation I have proposed the following.

  1. Department heads will clear all personal phone calls.
  2. Personal phone calls shall be made during employees' break, unless an emergency necessitates.
  3. Employees violating these new procedures will be given.
    A. One verbal warning.
    B. One formal warning.
    C. 30 day probation.

Any employee found to still be violating these new guidelines, will be given a 2-week notice, of intent to terminate. If there are any questions concerning these changes in policy, please feel free to discuss them with me, as my door is always open.
